Mariner cross

24k gold vermeil or 18k gold, with black opals.

This cross is part of my ongoing research into maritime symbols.
The piece appeared, was set aside, and returned to the workbench later on. What you see here is the result of that pause and of listening again, until everything found its place.

The opals —black on the surface, greenish within— evoke the sea in a non-literal way: storm, drift, and the need for orientation when reference points disappear.

I assemble each cross differently.
This specific configuration will exist in only two pieces: one in gold vermeil - Available for immediate shipment- and one in 18k gold - Made to order only.
