"We look at the world once, in childhood. The rest is memory."
― Louise Glück, Vita Nova
Angela Lago is an independent jewelry artist based in Madrid. Her work is shaped by instinct, material, and a life marked by the Atlantic.
She grew up observing sailors — their discipline, their appetite for freedom, their willingness to live close to risk. Strength and vulnerability existed side by side, without spectacle. That pull toward freedom stayed with her.
Her path moved through law, photography, and curating before jewelry became her medium — not as ornament, but as a way of knowing through form.
Each piece is made in her Madrid studio, where she works independently. By her hand, one by one, it is refined through repetition until the form holds. Some are unique. Others belong to limited series. Selected works are made to order.
Her work does not follow trends. It takes time — and she allows it.
