Angela Lago wearable art - Freedom in form

"We look at the world once, in childhood. The rest is memory."

― Louise Glück, Vita Nova

Angela Lago is an independent jewelry artist working in Madrid.

Sculptural jewelry, made by hand. Her work is shaped by instinct, material, and a life marked by the Atlantic.

She grew up observing sailors — their discipline, their appetite for freedom, their willingness to live close to risk. Strength and vulnerability existed side by side, without spectacle. That pull toward freedom remained.

Her path moved through law, photography, and curating before jewelry became her medium — not as ornament, but as a way of knowing through form.

Her work stems from a necessary impulse. Through making, she releases and gives form to what is not yet visible.

She works within a maritime language as structure — a language of her own.

Each piece is made in her Madrid studio, one by one, until it resolves. Some are unique. Others belong to limited series. Selected works are made to order.

Her work does not follow trends.
It takes time — and she allows it.

The rest is in the work.
