A gold-plated brass version of the Ballestrinque pendant, created during the development of this design.
The Ballestrinque — the Spanish name for the Clove Hitch — is a knot every sailor must know. Practical, precise and quietly beautiful.
This pendant translates that meaning into an object to wear close to the body.
A knot that holds.
A piece that guides.
Gold-plated brass knot (5 microns gold) with a sterling silver chain.
Handcrafted by Angela Lago in her Madrid studio.
In Western maritime tradition, knots were often associated with protection and good fortune.
When I first made this pendant, I wasn't aware of that tradition. Yet, intuitively, the same idea was already there.
The spirit of a journey.
A quiet strength.
And the beauty of being exactly where you are.
